I chose this example because of the contrast of colors. The black background makes the white and green lettering really stand out to the readers. I also like that its simple and gets straight to the point. This flyer is about church and, without even knowing what EBC is, anyone can understand that it has to do with church because of the fact that they put "{RE}DISCOVER CHURCH" in the upper right corner. Not only is it stated there, but it's written in larger font and it's in all caps.

This example caught my attention immediately because it sends out a sense of urgency with the way "ATTENTION" is written at the top, in red ink, all caps, and underlined. I also liked that they used a picture of a scene from the movie "Step Brothers" for this particular flyer. The flyer's purpose is to warn students about what could happen if they try to "bunk, de-bunk, loft, de-loft, lower or raise" their beds and they used this scene, which is from a very commonly known movie, to demonstrate what the consequences could be if students tried to do this alone. I think it's a really good tactic when trying to reach students about important topics.

This flyer starts out with five words that make draw attention. They put these words in large, bold, red print because they are words that will draw attention and they're written this way to draw even more attention to these words because they are using them to get to their point which is to not be violent and report it if someone is violent toward someone else. I also liked that they put the faces to describe what these words make people feel. I feel like this tactic not only draws attention but it makes the reader think about what the flyer is trying to get across to them by making them think about the way these words make them feel and why they shouldn't make other people or themselves feel that way.

I would use parts of each of these flyers to make a flyer of my own. I would use contrast of colors from the first flyer because I think it's very important to draw attention immediately, even before they've decided to read the flyer. I would use the big, bold lettering from the second example because after the readers' attention is caught, the words on the flyer should keep the attention. And finally, I would use some sort of image like the third flyer because students like to see a visual aid rather than only reading what's on the flyer. I think all of these flyers do a good job of getting and keeping attention also because of the fact that they are all short, but they also all get their point across.
